Summary
Researchers are looking at a treatment called ¹⁷⁷Lu‑TLX250, which is a type of targeted radioligand therapy. It is designed to attach to a protein called CAIX which is commonly found on clear cell kidney cancer cells. Once attached, it delivers a small amount of radiation directly to the cancer cells.
You may be eligible for this study if you have:
- clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC)
- cancer that is advanced, has returned (recurrent) or grown despite previous treatment (relapsed)
- tumours that express CAIX (this can be tested before joining the study)
The study has two parts.
Part 1 - Dose optimisation (Phase 2a)
Participants will be randomly assigned (by chance) to receive one of two different dosing regimens of ¹⁷⁷Lu‑TLX250.
The goal is to find the best dose that balances effectiveness and safety. This dose is called the recommended Phase 3 dose (RP3D) and will then be further evaluated in the next part of the study.
Part 2 - Treatment comparison (Phase 3)
Participants in this part will be randomly assigned to receive either:

- A standard treatment chosen by the study doctor that is currently used in Australia (standard of care).
Researchers will compare how well the treatments work and monitor side effects.
