Summary
This study is looking at new treatment options for people with triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) who have already had chemotherapy and/or immunotherapy before surgery, but some cancer was still found at the time of surgery. This is called not achieving a pathological complete response (pCR).
Participants in the study will be randomly assigned (by chance) to one of two treatment groups:
- New treatment group: receives a combination of sacituzumab tirumotecan (a newer type of targeted chemotherapy) and pembrolizumab (immunotherapy).
- Standard treatment group: receives one of the usual treatments chosen by their doctor, such as pembrolizumab alone or pembrolizumab with capecitabine (a chemotherapy tablet).
The main goal of the study is to see whether the new combination treatment can better prevent the cancer from coming back or spreading compared to standard treatments.
Researchers believe the new combination may work better than current options, but this is what the study is testing.
