Contact cancer support

Like with any cancer treatment, you may find during your cancer clinical trial that you have questions, need further information and support or even want to talk to someone who has been through a similar trials experience.

Cancer Council Victoria's support services are available to anyone affected by cancer - those diagnosed, family, friends, and carers. If you or a loved one is considering participating in a cancer clinical trial, and you need some support, contact us on 13 11 20.

Cancer Connect

Connect with someone who has been through a cancer clinical trial before. Through this one-on-one phone service, people can discuss any questions they have about being on a cancer clinical trial with a trained volunteer who has trials experience.

To access this program, call our support line on 13 11 20 and ask about Cancer Connect.

Information for your family, friends and carers

When you are considering a cancer clinical trial, it is a good idea to discuss it with your family, friends or carers. While ultimately it is your choice to participate (unless you are aged under 18, in which case parental or guardian consent may be required), it is important to understand how your involvement may impact the people close to you.

Participating in a cancer clinical trial may require additional appointments or support which you may need assistance from your carers to attend.

Caring for someone with cancer can be stressful. For helpful information and advice see our Caring for Someone with Cancer booklet.
