This Phase II trial is trying to determine how safe and effective the oral drug Abemaciclib is when given together with Abiraterone Acetate plus Prednisone (two other oral drugs) in patients with metastatic castrate resistant prostate cancer.
 

This trial is treating patients with prostate cancer.

This is a systemic therapy trial.

You may be able to join this trial if:

  • You are able to swallow medication by mouth.
  • Your cancer has spread to other parts of the body.

You may be excluded from this trial if:

  • You have a certain disease or psychological condition.
  • You have had certain treatments, surgical procedures or drugs.

Summary

Participants in this trial will be randomised into an experimental or comparator arm. In the experimental arm, Abiraterone, Prednisone and Abemaciclib will be administered orally. In the comparator arm, Abiraterone and Prednisone will be administered orally, and an oral placebo will be provided in place of Abemaciclib.
